This Privacy Policy explains how SignageHome (“we,” “us”) collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you visit our websites, create a workspace, manage devices, or use our APIs and player applications — including the Signage Home player for Samsung Smart TV (Tizen), Android TV, tablets, and Chromecast receivers. We design the platform for business customers; personal data is processed to deliver and secure the Service.
1. Information we collect
Account & business data
Name, work email, phone (optional), company name, role, billing contacts, and authentication credentials (stored as secure hashes). We also store location names, addresses you provide, device labels, and content assignment metadata.
Payment data
Payments are processed by Stripe and/or Razorpay. We receive limited billing metadata (plan, status, invoice references, last-four indicators where provided by the processor). We do not store full card numbers or CVV codes. TV player apps do not collect or process payment card data.
Device & product telemetry
Paired devices may send heartbeats, player version, online/offline status, and content sync acknowledgements so you can monitor screen health. Telemetry is tied to device and business identifiers, not to end-customer shoppers viewing a display.
Usage & diagnostics
We collect logs needed to operate and secure the Service (IP address, browser/app type, timestamps, error events). Support tickets and correspondence you send us are retained to resolve issues.
2. Samsung Smart TV player (Signage Home)
The Signage Home Samsung Smart TV application is a business digital-signage player. It pairs a TV to a SignageHome workspace and plays content assigned in the web portal. Login and billing happen in the web portal or on a phone or computer — not on the TV itself (except optional business email entry during on-TV pairing verification).
Data collected by or through the Samsung TV app
- Device identifiers — an app-generated device ID and, when available, the Samsung TV DUID (Device Unique Identifier) via the Samsung
productinfoAPI, used for stable pairing and inventory. - Device authentication token — issued after pairing; stored locally on the TV and on our servers to authorize API access for that screen.
- Device type and app version — e.g.
samsung_tvand the player version, for compatibility and support. - Pairing session data — ephemeral pairing codes and verification status during setup.
- Online / heartbeat status — so workspace owners can monitor whether a screen is online.
- Content sync and playback-related logs — as needed for reliable delivery and troubleshooting.
- Business email (optional) — only if the installer uses on-TV email + code verification during pairing; passwords are never entered on the TV.
- Server access logs — e.g. IP address on API requests, for security and abuse prevention (collected server-side).
Data not collected by the Samsung TV app
- Contacts, photos, user files, SMS, or call history
- Precise GPS or continuous location tracking
- Microphone or camera capture
- Advertising ID or data for third-party interest-based ads
- Payment card numbers or billing credentials
- Biometric data or identification of people viewing the screen
Local storage on the Samsung TV
After pairing, the app stores the device ID and authentication token in the TV’s app sandbox. Assigned template media may be cached locally over HTTPS for playback. This data is cleared when the device is unpaired, the token is revoked, or the app receives an unauthorized response from our servers.
Network access
The Samsung TV app communicates with SignageHome servers (signagehome.com and/or staging.signagehome.com during testing) over encrypted HTTPS to pair devices, sync content, and report status. It does not sell personal information to third parties.
Deleting TV device data
Workspace owners can deactivate or delete a device in the SignageHome portal, which revokes the device token. Unpairing clears the local token on the TV. For privacy requests related to account or device data, email [email protected].
3. How we use information
- Provide, authenticate, and improve the SignageHome portal, APIs, and players (including Samsung Smart TV).
- Process subscriptions, invoices, and account approvals.
- Deliver Customer Content to authorized devices and receivers.
- Detect abuse, malware in uploads, fraud, and security incidents.
- Send transactional email (verification, password reset, billing notices).
- Comply with legal obligations and enforce our Terms of Service.
We do not sell personal information. We do not use lobby-screen audiences’ biometric data; screens display your content and do not identify passersby for SignageHome marketing.
4. Sharing & processors
We share data only with service providers that help us run the platform (cloud hosting, email delivery, payment processors, security scanning) under contractual confidentiality and processing terms. Device pairing and playback data from Samsung TV players is processed on SignageHome servers and is not shared with Samsung for advertising purposes. We may disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a merger or asset transfer with appropriate safeguards.
5. Retention & security
We retain account and billing records for as long as your workspace is active and for a reasonable period afterward for audits, disputes, and legal requirements. Device tokens can be revoked; pairing codes expire automatically. Uploaded media may be scanned and stored outside the public web root, served via controlled URLs where applicable.
We apply administrative, technical, and organizational measures appropriate to the risk, including access controls, encrypted transport (TLS), and least-privilege practices. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure; please protect your login credentials and venue networks.
6. Your rights & choices
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal data, or to object to certain processing. Workspace owners can update profile and business details in the portal. For privacy requests, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity and the authority to act for a business account.
You can unsubscribe from non-essential marketing messages where offered; transactional messages required to operate the Service will still be sent.
7. Cookies & similar technologies
We use essential cookies and similar technologies for authentication, session security, and remembering preferences on our websites. Analytics cookies, if enabled, help us understand product usage in aggregate. The Samsung TV player app does not use browser cookies; it stores pairing tokens locally in the TV app sandbox as described above. You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling essential cookies may break login or dashboard features.
8. International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries where we or our processors operate. Where required, we use appropriate transfer mechanisms and contractual protections.
9. Children
The Service is directed to businesses and is not intended for children under 16. The Samsung TV player displays business-managed content and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version with an updated effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the portal or email where appropriate.
